How to plan a hassle-free road trip

Planning a road trip takes months: from booking hotels to packing a suitcase to making a list of things to do and places to visit. It takes me literally one week to put together everything my family needs for a long road trip, and sometimes I still forget some stuff. A timeline is necessary. Just think three months ahead, generally even if you're traveling overseas this is enough time to prepare.
