Boston trip planner: Should I drive or commute?

So you're headed for a Boston road trip? Obviously, if you already decided to drive, you have more freedom to see places and do more things in Boston.

However, if you're flying, it's best to rent a car in Boston. Car rentals are cheap and the highway system in this city is extensive. This means you can get almost anywhere you want, with some exceptions: Don't get tied up during the holidays or summer weekends.

The last resort would have to be to commute: the T subway is pretty much the best way to go if you don't own a car.
