#1. MLK Celebration - March and Festival
Martin Luther King Jr.'s birthday is commemorated in Austin each year with a community march downtown with some important stops along the way and which culiminates in an annual Cultural Festival. The march typically begins on the campus of the University of Texas with a brief ceremony and then proceeds to the State Capitol for another brief ceremony. With plenty of after parties each night, this has become a very cool and fun Austin tradition.
